Luke 10:1
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.

Reflection
Jesus didn’t send his disciples out to do ministry work on their own.  He sent them in twos.  Each person had a partner.  So many times we think we have to do the work of connecting with people and sharing the gospel on our own.  That’s not the way Jesus had his disciples do it.

When we make connections with people in our neighborhoods we should do it with others.  If we go to a local coffee shop or pub to connect with people we should do it with someone else.  Why do we need a partner?  Two people can support one another and help each other in the ministry effort.  When we are on our own as we do outreach ministry it is much easier to get discouraged and end up quitting.  It is much easier to keep going if someone is in the effort with us.

For you, why is it easier to do ministry with someone rather than by yourself?
