John 15:6
“If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”

Reflection
This verse should make us very wary about neglecting our relationship with Jesus.  As a disciple, if we do not remain connected to Jesus we have no life.  We will dry up spiritually and we will be of no good to the kingdom or to Jesus.  Jesus goes so far to say that unfruitful and disconnected branches will be cast away and destroyed.

That warning should be enough to make us cling to Jesus and look to his love and grace to help us live every day of our lives.  Our safety is found in Jesus.  Our power is found in Jesus.  Our ability to be fruitful in disciple making is found in Jesus.  We must remain firmly connected to the vine.

How do you remain strong in your connection with Jesus?

How can you be even more secure in your connection with Jesus?

Spend some time reflecting on these things.
