John 15:3-4
“You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.  Remain in me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.  Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Reflection
Jesus gives us the key to bearing fruit.  Remember that bearing fruit is making disciples.  Jesus said that we cannot begin to hope to bear fruit disconnected from him.  We must remain in the grace and love of Jesus and that will enable us to be fruitful.  Jesus promises that if we nurture and develop our relationship with him he will remain in us.  Fruitfulness begins with a relationship with Jesus.

What should we focus on first, if we want to be fruitful?
