Luke 10:10-12
“But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, ‘Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you.  Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.’  I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.”

Reflection
Jesus also gives instructions to his disciples on what to do when they are not welcomed into a town.  They are supposed to leave immediately.  They are not to waste any time on those who are not ready to hear the gospel.  Maybe the people will be ready and receptive at a later time, but it will not be productive for Jesus’ disciples to spend a lot of time trying to share Jesus’ message in an environment that is not open to receiving the kingdom of God in their midst.

Jesus gave them instructions so that when they ran into a situation where people weren’t open to Jesus’ message they would know what to do.  Again, we need to spend time with new disciples and teach and show them what they should do when they attempt to share Jesus’ message with others.
