Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.  Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.  All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Reflection
This passage shows us that the church, from the very beginning, was about living out their discipleship as they shared life together.  It also shows us that the church lived the witness of Jesus before the world.
They shared with each other and took care of one another.  They exhibited an uncommon joy as they served and praised God.  The power of the Holy Spirit was upon them and signs and wonders were being done by the apostles.  They ate and celebrated together and offered an attitude of thanksgiving to God and to one another.
What was the result of this witness of the life of Jesus before the world?  The scripture says that the Lord was bringing people to faith in Jesus on a daily basis.  The church lived their discipleship before the world and more disciples for Jesus were made.
Does the church today live the witness of Jesus before the world?  How or how not?
