Jesus Is Lord!
Acts 2:36, Acts 4:12
When we look at the six elements of apostolic genius (the elements that made the first century church so successful) we discover the most important of those elements is the concept of living with “Jesus as Lord”.
What does it mean to have Jesus as Lord? It means that Jesus is the center of our lives and that he is the only object of our devotion and worship. When Jesus is Lord of our lives then the primacy of Jesus will challenge all the real and potential idols in our lives. When Jesus is Lord then everything that challenges his rightful place in our lives is replaced with the all-consuming love that we have for Jesus.
Obviously, living with Jesus as Lord is a challenge on a daily basis. We must always guard our hearts so that Jesus remains at the center of who we are and nothing takes his place or competes with Jesus for our love and devotion.
