Acts 2:36

“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this:  God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

Reflection

In order for Jesus to be Lord of our lives we have to understand who Jesus is.  Jesus is the instrument of God to fulfill and complete the work of salvation.  Jesus restores all of creation to right relationship with the Father.
Jesus is the incarnation of the fullness of God.  In other words if we want to know what God is like all we have to do is to know Jesus.  Jesus has won a victory of sin and death and has been exalted to the right hand of God.  Jesus now intercedes for all of his saints to the Father for our physical and spiritual well-being.  Jesus is the foundation, center and focus of our faith.
If we don’t come to a realization of who Jesus is then he cannot be Lord of our lives.  If we see Jesus just as a good man then he cannot be Lord.  If we see Jesus as a prophet among many prophets then he cannot be Lord of our lives.  If we see Jesus as one of many valid ways to know and develop a relationship with God then he cannot be Lord of our lives.  Jesus can only be Lord if we realize he is the one and only, not one among many.
Is it hard for you to see Jesus in the way the Bible presents him, the embodiment of the one God?
Why do we need to struggle each day to keep Jesus in the center of our lives so that he is always Lord?
