Blessed are the meek [humble], …







Reflection
This is not a lesson in the twelve step program.  But for the sake of understanding The Great Exchange, it is worth noting that the second step is recognizing that there is a Power (God) that is greater than ourselves that can restore us.

In other words, we need to humble ourselves, recognizing we have a problem (in need of a great exchange) and that it takes someone else (God) to make the great exchange happen.  Jesus refers to that in His Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5.  He says that the “poor in spirit” (verse 3) and the “meek” (another translation refers to this as humble) are blessed.  In other words, if we think we can do it all, if we think it begins and ends with us, i.e., the opposite of humble, we are not blessed.

Where do you need to humble yourself and admit that you are not God and it will take God to address whatever issues you may have?
