Philippians 4:4-6
though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.
Reflection
In this passage, Paul is telling the readers of this letter all of the reasons that he would have confidence in trusting in himself (as opposed to trusting in God). To the Jewish readers, Paul has some impressive credentials. If anyone had the background to have confidence to trust in themselves, it should be Paul.
What do you trust yourself for that maybe, you should trust God for?
