John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Reflection
There is no greater example of love than the love that God showed us through his Son, Jesus Christ.  Jesus gave up his place in glory as the honored Son of the Father and came into this world to live among us.  In order to do that he came into the world in the most humble and simple circumstances.  He was born in a stable, lived and grew up in a poor village, spent three years doing nothing but sharing with others that the kingdom of God was upon them and gave his life on the cross dying a criminal’s death.  All of this was not for his own glory or good.  It was all done for us.

Jesus showed us the kind of love that will change people’s hearts and therefore will change the world.  If we are going to make disciples of Jesus Christ then a critical component of that process is to share the selfless love of Jesus as we allow that love to flow through us.  We need to find ways to love others even if it requires sacrifice on our part.  As we share that love, the love of Jesus, over time, will become real for the one receiving that love.

Think of the last time that you shared the sacrificial love of Jesus with someone who did not know the love and grace of Jesus.

If you cannot think of a time you have done that, who can you begin to develop a relationship with so that you can share that selfless love of Jesus with them?
