John 14:23-24
Jesus said, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.  My Father will love him, and he will come to him and make our home with him.  He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.  These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”

Reflection
The principle of being consecrated to Jesus through obedience must be very important for Jesus to reiterate it as much as he does.  These verses emphasize the importance of obeying Jesus by stating the obvious opposite principle.  If we do not obey Jesus then it proves we do not love him.

Have you ever considered that our lack of obedience signals a lack of love for Jesus?  Spend some time thinking about this.
