Ephesians 6:21

Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.

Reflection

Paul says that since he cannot come to the Ephesian Christians (Paul is in prison) that he is sending his good friend, Tychicus, to share how Paul is doing and what he has been doing.  I can just imagine all the stories Tychicus had to tell the Ephesian church about how Paul was sharing the gospel of Jesus with others and how many people in Rome were coming to faith in Christ even though Paul’s movements were limited because he was under house arrest.

Have you ever noticed that stories of how other people are sharing the gospel and hearing about the results of Christ’s grace in other people’s lives can encourage us?  It also can help bolster our courage to share the gospel with others.  The church of today doesn’t share enough stories.  We need to share the stories of how we have shared with others and how the grace of Christ changed their lives.  As we share those stories it will build up the body of Christ and will give us the courage and encouragement to give sharing our faith a try ourselves.

This week listen and see if you hear anyone talking about how they were able to share their faith or live out their faith in their lives.

Take the opportunity to share a story of how you have shared your faith with someone else.  If you don’t have a story to tell then start working on developing a story.
