Genesis 41:28-43

Reflection
This passage of scripture not only tells us that we should expect hard times to come it also tells us how we should prepare for the hard times.  Joseph offered Pharaoh a specific plan for how to deal with the years of plenty and the years of famine.  Joseph proposed that the land of Egypt save one-fifth of all the abundance during the seven years of plenty.  By doing so, the land of Egypt could accumulate more than enough to get them through the years of famine.  However, for this to work there needed to be a plan and they needed to follow the plan closely.

Do you have a plan for saving so that in hard times you will have something to live on?  Are you disciplining yourself to follow that plan?
