Deuteronomy 8:15-16
He led you through the vast and dreadful desert, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions.  He brought you water out of hard rock.  He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you.

Reflection
We ask ourselves, “If God owns everything and all blessings come from him then why does he allow us to have difficult times periodically?”  The reason why is that God wants to prove that whatever you have to face you can overcome if you depend on God’s strength and presence to get you through.  As we are taught to depend on God in the good times and in the bad times then we are taught that it is not our strength that is important.  What is important is God’s strength in us.  If we learn dependence upon God then it will always go well for us.  Why?  Because God becomes our ultimate blessing.
