Acts 9:15
But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go!  This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.

Reflection
When Saul (who is later to be called Paul) had his conversion experience on the road to Damascus he was confronted by Jesus and struck blind.  Saul was told to go into the city of Damascus and wait in a home for a man named Ananias to come and minister to him so that he would regain his sight.
When Ananias was told by Jesus to minister to Saul Ananias was afraid to go because of Saul’s reputation of persecuting Christians.  However, Jesus told Ananias that the one who had tried to stamp out Christianity was the one whom he had chosen to spread the good news to those who were not Jews and to those who were a part of the nation Israel (those who were Jews).  Saul was directed from the time of his conversion and all through his ministry to be about sharing the good news of Jesus with all who did not yet know Jesus.  That was Saul’s mission.  Saul who became Paul knew Jesus and he spent the remainder of his life making Jesus known to others.  That is our task as well.  We know Jesus so it is our responsibility to make Jesus known to others.
