James 5:13-16
Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.  Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Reflection
For most of us, when we are in that place of pain or brokenness, our initial impulse is to hide … to cover it up.  We’re thinking, “Maybe no one will be able to see our struggles.”  For most of the world, that’s where it stops.  We live in our struggles – all by ourselves.  We either get buried by it or we muddle through it.  For Christians, we should share our burdens or, if a lesson needs to be learned, confess to one another and change our behaviors.

How can you share your struggles with others in a way that provides healing?

How can you support others in their struggles?
