Luke 2:10-11
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.”

Reflection

It is wonderful thing that when we are anxious and afraid concerning the things of God that God always offers comfort and reassurance.  The shepherds were afraid when the angels appeared to them but the angel assured them that there was nothing of which to be afraid.  In fact, the angel said that they had come to bring good news!  A Savior had been born and he was Christ the Lord.

There seems to be so much in life that causes us to be afraid and anxious.  There is always some worry that is nagging at our consciousness.  God says not to be afraid because everything that causes us fear and anxiety can be taken care of through the good news of Jesus.  The true message of reconciliation is that we have been given a Savior.  Jesus frees us from what holds us back and reconciles us to the true life that God intended for each of us.

Has Jesus set you free from your fear and anxiety?  Do you believe you are being reconciled to God’s intentions for your life?
