Ephesians 4:12-13
To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Reflection

Why has Jesus given grace to the church so that all disciples have a ministry role of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher?  The answer to that question is so that the people of God will be prepared and strengthened for works of service to one another.  As we serve one another and give of ourselves to one another then the result will be that we will have unity in Jesus Christ.  As we serve and we find unity in Christ we will then become mature and we will grow into the fullness of Christ.

When we discover our ministry role and we allow that role to be fulfilled in the life of the church then it helps us to become the disciples that Christ is calling us to be.

How has offering service to others in the church helped you to grow and mature in Christ?
