Surrender

To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi,
with the bishops and deacons:
Philippians 1:1
It is sad, but our world is built on the consumer idea where the goal is to keep the customers happy. The trouble is that too many times we bring this
mentality into our relationship with God. We want what we want, when we want it. The truth is that this is the furthest thing from the relationship God wants to have with you. The intent of our relationship with God is not for us to be happy. Now do not get me wrong, I very much believe that God wants us to feel joy and happiness but they are not the point of our relationship with God.
The point of our relationship with God is not to get what we want but to have an
intimate relationship with the God who loves us so much. God wants us to be in a relationship with Him and He wants us to follow Him. That relationship like any relationship is not based only on whether we are happy and we get what we want.
