Mark 6:34 (NLT)
Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

Reflection

In this passage from Mark, Jesus and His disciples are trying to go away to a solitary place.  There had been so many people crowding around Jesus and His disciples that they didn’t even have a chance to eat.  So they wanted to go to a quiet place and rest.  So they took a boat to get there.

But when they arrived, people from surrounding towns got there ahead of time.  As they landed and Jesus saw the crowds, “He had compassion on them…”  They looked like sheep, helpless, totally dependent on the shepherd to take care of them.  And what did Jesus do?  He took care of them and taught them many things.

Jesus is looking at you now and knows your exact situation – good or bad.  And He has compassion on you.  Record your feelings here, knowing that Jesus has compassion on you.
