Ephesians 5:17-18
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead be filled with the Spirit.
Reflection
These two verses end with the instruction to be filled with the Spirit. What great advice! When we are filled with the Sprit then there is less of a chance that we will give into dark temptations.
When we are filled with the Spirit there is a much greater chance that we will be open to and understand what God wants to do in our lives. We need to avoid that which dulls our understanding of God’s direction in our lives.
