Matthew 13:8-9, 23
“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop – a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.  He who has ears, let him hear.”

(23) “But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it.  He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Reflection
When Jesus’ word enters the life of a person who is ready and willing to do all they can to allow the seed of the word to sprout and grow in them, then the word has found fertile soil in which to grow.  However, I think it is probably evident by now that not everyone is ready to hear the gospel at any given time.  As people who are called to share Jesus’ love with others, we must attempt to be discerning so that we can find those receptive individuals who are open to the word of Jesus.

What do we do about the ones who are not ready?  We do the only thing we can do for them.  We pray for them.  Ultimately, it is only the Holy Spirit of God that can prepare a heart to receive the good news of Jesus.
Spend time today praying that the Holy Spirit leads you to someone who is open to the gospel so that you can begin the process of helping them become a disciple.
