Luke 10:5-7
“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’  If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you.  Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages.  Do not move around from house to house.”

Reflection
What is Jesus referring to when he instructs his disciples to go into homes seeking for a “person of peace”?  The person of peace is a person who is receptive and open to the good news of Jesus Christ.  The person of peace is a person who is ready to be discipled.

What does this teaching of Jesus mean for us?  When looking for that person with whom we are to share the gospel we must be selective.  Jesus says that we should look for those people who have been prepared to be our “person of peace.”  How do you know when you have found your person of peace?  Jesus tells us that we will know because the person of peace will be eager and ready to receive you and what you have to say.  If the person you are working with is resistant then that is not your person of peace.  We need to pray for that person but we need to move on to find the person who is open to the message of Jesus.

Have you found your person of peace?  If not, are you searching for them?
