Association
Mark 1:16-20, Mark 6:30-31, John 11:54
When making disciples we must be willing to spend time with the people we are discipling. It is called the principle of association. We must associate with those whom we are trying to influence for Jesus. Where do we learn this principle of association? We learn it from Jesus. That is exactly the way Jesus influenced, taught and developed his disciples. In fact, the main thing that Jesus did for his three years of public ministry was to invest himself in his inner circle of twelve disciples. He developed them through association.
We can learn from Jesus and we need to be willing to give of our time to invest in others. In this way we will be making disciples through the principle of association.
