Job 11:10-12
10 “If he comes along and confines you in prison
    and convenes a court, who can oppose him?
11 Surely he recognizes deceivers;
    and when he sees evil, does he not take note?
12 But the witless can no more become wise
    than a wild donkey’s colt can be born human.

Reflection
It is so hard when we read Job because the words of his friends are not inherently bad, yet they are asking him to give up on both the truth that he knows and his faith in his God. Today we hear Job’s friend say, "You think you're so godly, you think you're so wise—you're nothing but a witless loser!" This is the advise the adversary gives us when we try to share our faith. Who are you to tell of the marvelous glories of God? How have you experienced this deception in your life?
