Job 19:25-27
25 I know that my redeemer lives,
    and that in the end he will stand on the earth.
26 And after my skin has been destroyed,
    yet in my flesh I will see God;
27 I myself will see him
    with my own eyes—I, and not another.
    How my heart yearns within me!

Reflection
The trouble with Job’s friends and wife is that they like us want an easy answer to the question why does bad things happen to good people? Their answers are consistently that bad things happen for a reason. If you are good God rewards you. But, what Job learns and what we should know is that the  gift God gives us is not an easy answer nor a quick prize. God’s gift is something far greater.  Job’s response here has been echoed by communities of faith for thousands of years. How do you think this statement gives us hope in the face of the enemy?
