There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
Reflection
Your faith story is not just your conversion – “come to Jesus” – story. Samuel’s story did not start nor stop when Eli told him how to respond to the Lord’s call. The truth is that we are all called. We are each uniquely gifted and called by God to reach someone or a group of people. Through conversations, through sharing your story, the past becomes clearer and connected to your present and to your future. This is the purpose of Ministry Discovery at Southport.
Ministry Discovery guides will ask questions to help you understand your gifts … the tools, skills, and experiences that God can use to bless others through you. They will ask you questions about your passions … what gets your heart beating and moves you to action? They will ask you about the needs of the community … what breaks your heart and how can you share God’s love and grace with a hurting world?
