Discovering Your Call
1 Samuel
We all have a story, or a series of stories – a series of events with twists and turns, some things planned and executed perfectly, and some things … not so much. Over the past several months, one of the things Southport has been encouraging you to do is to learn to tell your story and tell how your story fits into God’s story. To use the “churchy” term, this is your call – your understanding of where God has been using you and where God wants you to go next.
Traditionally, many have viewed calling as a singular purpose or direction – a dramatic moment of conversion or a burning bush moment where God does something miraculous to intervene for something big and specific. But, that is a narrow understanding of call. This week, we will follow the prophet Samuel and see how God calls him multiple times throughout his life.
