Matthew 2:1-2
After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?  We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

Reflection
We know that the magi were not Jews.  In fact, they were pagans.  But in spite of that they still sought the truth.  They sought for the truth that God was revealing to all people.  This shows us that God through Jesus Christ loves and cares for all people.
The people who might seem to us to be the most unlikely candidates to receive God’s grace and love in Jesus may be the very people that God is trying to reach.  God had opened the magi’s hearts to his truth even though they were pagans.

Do you have trouble believing that people who seem the farthest from God may be the very people that God is calling and is using to accomplish his will?

Do we believe that there are people who are beyond the reach of God’s grace?
