Leviticus 19:1-2 (NLT)
The Lord also said to Moses, “Give the following instructions to the entire community of Israel. You must be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy.

Reflection
The book of Leviticus in the Old Testament documents a lot of the laws/rules given by God to the Israelites.  This passage says that God is holy, therefore the Israelites, God’s chosen people are to be holy as well.

Several definitions of the word “holy” are:
Dedicated or set apart for religious purposes
Devoted to the service of God
Sacred
God wanted the Israelites to be “holy” (set apart) so that they would reflect God to other nations and people.  God did not want the Israelites to be like everyone else.

Think of your daily life, what you do every day, 24x7.  Are you set apart for God’s purposes?  Do you reflect God’s love and grace every day, 24x7?
