God’s Will

“Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.  For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear; but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’  The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”
Romans :14-15

The will of the Holy Spirit is that we know and come into a relationship with the Son of God, Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit stirs up a desire within us for something more.  Why does that happen?  It happens because the Holy Spirit wants to breed a sense of dissatisfaction in our lives so that we will be open to searching for and receiving the grace of Jesus Christ in our lives.
Quite frankly, the will of the Holy Spirit for each of us is for us to know Jesus and then when we know Jesus to grow closer and closer to him as the sons and daughters of God.  So, even as Christians when things aren’t going as well as they should or when we feel a general dissatisfaction with life then maybe we should examine our relationship with Jesus.  Maybe there is something going on in our relationship with Jesus that shouldn’t be there.  If that is the case then maybe the Holy Spirit is allowing our spirit to be disturbed so that we will look around and see what changes we need to make.  Issues, problems, and difficulties in our lives might not always be a bad thing.  Sometimes those things can be tools used by the Holy Spirit to point us in a new direction so that we are more fully headed toward Jesus and we are taking our rightful place as a part of God’s forever family.
