Our Faith Story
“So you must never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.” (2 Timothy 1:8)
Are you aware that on any given Sunday in the Indianapolis area only about 18% of the population is in church. That means that 82% of the people are not in church. Of those 82% the vast majority are totally unconnected to the Christian faith. Tens of thousands of people within a few miles of this church have no idea what a life in Jesus Christ can do for them. We, as Christians, need to be
developing relationships with these unconnected people and we need to be ready to share our faith stories with them. We need to be able to give an articulate accounting of why we have chosen to follow Jesus.
Starting this week in the journals we are going to be looking at scripture in order to start being able to share our faith story with the world. The trouble we have is that many of us do not know where to start in sharing our story. So for the next eight weeks we will look at ways to shape our faith story. We will learn to recognize God moments in our lives, articulate what God is doing in our lives, and develop a story that we can share with others that is authentic.
