Saying No to Satan’s World Order
“Being strengthened with all power  according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”
—Colossians 1:11-12

The world order in which we live is constantly beckoning us to do whatever we can to fulfill our personal desires and to experience every pleasure that we can.  Why is this the case?  This is our reality because our enemy, Satan, has established a world order that is focused on our selfish wants and desires.  Satan wants the world order to be all about us because he knows that when we live that way it leads us away from God.
As Christians we have been given a new reality.  That reality is that we live in this world, but we are not of this world.  We live in the reality that we are new creations through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We no longer have to live just to please ourselves.  We can live with the love of Jesus and follow the ways of God.  Through the salvation that we have received through Jesus Christ, Satan has been defeated and we don’t have to choose his ways and give in to his temptations.  We can say “No” to Satan’s world order of sin and self and we can say “Yes” to Jesus’ way of life which is to live for him and for others.
One way we can help say no to Satan’s world order is to focus on the goal that we have which is eternal rest in the presence of our God. This week we will focus on the hope we have in glory to help us say “no” to Satan’s world order.
