Weekly Theme December 1 through 7

Encouragement

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I have learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
-John 15: 13-15

Each of us, as Christians, needs a sense of accomplishment that leads to encouragement in our discipleship.  We need to feel as if we are going someplace.  We need to see some
results.
If we are not connecting to God through Jesus Christ and experiencing the presence of God in our lives, then it will weigh us down.  If we are not seeing tangible signs that we are
deepening our understanding and growing in the faith, then the lack of results will weigh us down.  If we are not engaging in meaningful service so that we can live out the love that Christ has placed in our lives, then we will feel stuck and we won’t experience the encouragement that we need.  If we won’t participate in giving a meaningful percentage of our income back to the Lord, then we become stuck in this area and we won’t experience the accomplishment and encouragement that we need. We need to be moving and going forward in our faith in Jesus or we won’t see the results that we need and we won’t receive the encouragement that keeps us going forward.
